Memorial City Mall Begins Redevelopment

It’s out with the old and in with the new at Memorial City Mall. Demolition began on the former Sears building, which was the mall’s original anchor back in 1966. The removal of the building marks the start of a redevelopment project that will transform aspects of Memorial City into exciting new spaces. 🏗️

Blast Off with the Space Center
Playhouse at CityCentre

Check out the out-of-this-world Space Center Playhouse in the Plaza at CityCentre. This structure includes a flat-screen TV, gaming system, and gaming chairs. During your visit, enter the raffle for $5 for a chance to take the playhouse home. Proceeds support the non-profit HomeAid Houston in its mission to build homes for the homeless. The drawing is set for October 16. 🚀

Liberty Kitchen at
the Treehouse Reopens

Liberty Kitchen at The Treehouse is back and better than ever. Culinary Khancepts, the Houston group behind Star Cinema and State Fare, acquired the company and reopened the restaurant on August 14. The updated menu includes some new items and classic favorites. 🍽️

There's Still Time to Enjoy
Houston Restaurant Weeks

Don’t miss your chance to get a great meal from a Memorial District restaurant and help out a meaningful cause. Participate in Houston Restaurant Weeks, the largest annual fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank. This event runs through September 7. Last year’s contributions translated to more than 104 million meals in 18 counties of southeast Texas. 🍲
 

Support Local Blood Drives

Ready to be a hero? Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will host mobile blood drives in response to the urgent need for blood and convalescent plasma to fight COVID-19 in Houston.

CityCentre: Friday, August 28, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Memorial City: Friday, September 4, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
