Pita Pit: Fresh Alternatives to Fast Food

September 21, 2017

Fast food has a new look in the Memorial District. The Pita Pit, open this summer, offers a wide range of fast, healthy lunch and dinner options. With fresh ingredients, a friendly staff and carry out and catering, the Pita Pit is a wonderful addition to the area.

Start your order with a white or whole wheat pita, or choose ‘fork style’ (as a salad), then build your meal using a selection of cheeses, 18 sauces, and toppings including avocado, red pepper hummus, pineapple and artichokes. Create from scratch or choose one of the flavor combinations from the menu like the always-popular Chicken Souvlaki or the Philly Cheesesteak. Pita Pit also has a range of breakfast pitas served fresh all day. Finish your meal with chips or a smoothie.

Kellie Stuff, owner and operator of the Pita Pit has a passion for quality, healthy food. The mother of three kids with busy schedules, she appreciates the need for meals that are quick but don’t skimp on nutrition.

Prior to opening the Pita Pit, Stuff worked in catering for 23 years. She says, “I love food. I love to cook. I love to eat.” So, when the time came to make a career change, she knew she wanted something that would allow her to continue to work with food and people.

The Pita Pit is new to the Memorial District, but Kellie is not. This area is her stomping ground and she’s excited to be a part of it and even more excited to get involved with and support the community.

If you haven’t tried Pita Pit yet, make your way to 12351 Kingsride Lane soon and start crafting your own pita.
