December 2019

Features, events and community that set the Memorial District apart.

Planning for New Year's Eve?

Ring in 2020 in the Memorial District! Visit CityCentre on New Year’s Eve where the excitement begins at 9:30 p.m. with live music in the plaza from the dance band A Sure Thing, followed by a countdown to midnight capped off with confetti and a 60-second rooftop fireworks show (weather permitting).

If you want to celebrate a little earlier, come by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for a family-friendly Noon Year’s Eve celebration where you can dance with a DJ and top off the noon hour off with bubbles! Enjoy face painting, a balloon and caricature artist, and capture the fun with Lucky Shots’ magic mirror photo booth.

Over at Memorial City at the Xfinity Fireplace, you can join a DJ dance party at 11 a.m. You’ll also find face painters and balloon artists, and when the clock strikes Noon, there will be a massive balloon drop and lemonade toast.

CityCentre Welcomes The Moran

Formerly Hotel Sorella, The Moran is a standout among Houston’s best hotels. Guestrooms have a sleek residential style that adds a feeling of distinction, and the many spaces for conferences and business occasions are both flexible and functional. Best of all, The Moran is steps away from all that CityCentre and the Memorial District have to offer. The rebranding pays tribute to this 12-story hotel’s founder, Jim Moran.
