There are giant illuminated reindeer, a peppermint-scented path, and six-foot candy canes at St. Nick’s Park. At St. Nick’s Park, choose one of multiple photography session options. Make a reservation before December 16 to receive $3 off your photo package. Then, with each photo package that you purchase at St. Nick’s Park, receive free passes to Ice Skate Memorial City and the Memorial City Carousel.

Memorial City also has Caring Santa from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on December 6 and 13. This sensory-friendly opportunity is an excellent way for children with special needs to have a Santa visit. During Caring Santa, the staff turns down the lights and music to create a peaceful, welcoming environment while the young ones have a photo session with Santa before public admission. Memorial City will provide juice boxes, doughnuts, and coloring sheets for this event, and Santa’s reindeer will be in attendance. Click here to sign up, Memorial City partnered with Autism Speaks. This organization raises societal awareness and understanding of autism and helps people with autism and their families.

For all of the Santa events at Memorial City, employees and guests must wear masks at all times unless a guest requests to remove a mask temporarily for the photo session. The staff will conduct temperature checks on all employees and guests, and St. Nick’s Park will undergo sterilization before and after every visit. Everyone will have access to hand sanitizer. Parents and guardians of Santa’s young visitors will be the ones to put their children on the physically distanced set near Santa, and anyone who is not part of the photo will socially distance in an area away from Santa, the photographer, and the other guests. Santa Claus will be at CITYCENTRE for Holiday in the Plaza from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 28. Presented by Sewell Cadillac, this event will begin when Santa himself arrives in a Cadillac. You can help CITYCENTRE fill the Cadillac with donations for the Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. In exchange, you can take a complimentary photograph with Saint Nicholas.

This year, Thanksgiving may look a little different. Whether you have a small gathering or a quiet dinner out with friends or family, the Memorial District is here to help. Restaurants are standing by delectable menu selections, along with fabulously packaged and ready-to-eat items.
Fleming’s is offering a three-course dinner starting at $53 which includes all the fixings and dessert. You can choose from herb-roasted turkey, filet mignon or prime bone-in ribeye. The full dinner menu will be available all day, perfect if you are an early diner This menu is also available for pick-up with prices starting at $43 per person.
Eddie V’s has an entire Thanksgiving dinner that you can easily reheat at home starting at $135. All the salads and sides are included, as well as a pumpkin pie. You can also opt for the tenderloin bundle, which starts at $150. They have a “just sides” bundle, in case you already have your turkey. This starts at $125. All of these options are available for order and pick up. Be sure to order soon as slot do tend to fill up quickly.

Seasons 52, has a warm and serve Thanksgiving dinner package that can be easily reheated in less than an hour. The package includes all the sides and salad, a choice of six mini desserts that include pumpkin pie, raspberry chocolate chip cannoli and turtle cheesecake. This package starts at $150.

Capital Grille offers a full Thanksgiving dinner menu and a full dinner to go. The dine in-menu is $43 person and the to-go option starts at $125. If you choose to dine in, please make reservations ahead of time.

Perry’s in Memorial City also has scrumption dine-in and to-go options. The individual Thanksgiving dinner is $45 per person and includes a three-course meal with dessert. Term Sheet for Utility Burial Reimbursement Agreement
I. Call for Projects
a. At the end of each fiscal year, the Board will determine available funds for utility burial reimbursement projects for the following fiscal year. Based on the availability of funds and any outstanding reimbursement obligations, the Board will issue a request to all District property owners for application to the District for utility burial projects expected to be completed during the following fiscal year.
b. All applications must be submitted to the District within 30 days of the request issued by the Board.
c. Property owners must respond to the District's notice of award within 60 days indicating owner's intent to participate in the Program for the following fiscal year.
d. The Board will enter into a reimbursement agreement with applicants for reimbursement of up to sixty percent (60%) of the construction costs (not design costs) to bury overhead utility lines within the District, subject to all of the following criteria:
i. The overhead utilities to be relocated must be located within the boundaries of the District and adjacent to public streets.
ii. The overhead utilities must be relocated underground within either public street right-of-way or a utility easement.
iii. Reimbursement will be for out-of-pocket construction costs only (not design costs). Applicants will be required to provide the necessary easement(s) and design engineering at their sole cost and expense.
II. Allocation of Reimbursement
a. If the District enters into reimbursement agreements with more than one applicant in the first fiscal year, the Board will determine the allocation of available funds for reimbursement during the first year of the project's reimbursement period based on estimated reimbursable project costs.
b. In subsequent years, project owners which were not fully reimbursed for a utility burial reimbursement project in the prior fiscal year(s) will be reimbursed pro-rata in the same proportions prior to reimbursements being made for projects to be completed that fiscal year.
c. Any project which is the subject of a reimbursement agreement which is not completed during the fiscal year designated in such reimbursement agreement will be required to reapply for reimbursement during a future fiscal year.
III. Request for Reimbursement
a. Upon completion of a utility burial project, project owners must submit the following documentation for payment:
i. Summary of payment of eligible costs
ii. Proof of contractor payments and waivers of liens
iii. Evidence of project acceptance by applicable utility provider’s
b. A reimbursement audit will be prepared by the District's auditor prior to release of funds.

Fall is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the scenery. Now that scenery also includes beautiful works of art through the UP Art Studio's project called Mini Murals. This project transforms utility cabinets in the area with elaborate murals.

These beautifully painted murals brighten the city with public artwork and discourages graffiti vandalism. The muralists who worked on the Memorial District paintings included Dan Dollohan, Joy Matheson, and Pilot.

It is worth noting that you can find the murals by taking a day-trip drive or bike trip through the district; perfect for social distancing.
