CityCentre lights up Saturday, November 19, from 12-9pm. The Glisten Holiday Lighting, sponsored by Texas Children's Hospital - West Campus and Sewell Cadillac, will kick off the holiday season with fun for the whole family you don't want to miss!
Pictures with Santa from 12 - 5 PM: Santa kickoffs the festivities when he arrives in his Sewell Cadillac to spread holiday cheer and pose for pictures; help CITYCENTRE fill Santa's Cadillac with new, unwrapped toys to be donated in exchange for a complimentary picture with Santa.
Sledding in the plaza from 12 - 9 PM: There is a 100% chance for snow in the plaza; grab a sled and take a ride down the 5-foot snow slide or build a snowman in the snow box.
Caroling from 1 & 3:30 PM: Open Door Mission will fill the plaza with classic Christmas carols.
Mini Makeovers at Sephora from 1-5 PM: Find your holiday party look at Sephora with a mini makeover and shop one-of-a-kind holiday gift sets while you're there.
Glisten Dine Around from 2 - 5 PM: If you prefer to stay warm by the stove, join MsIndependent for the Glisten Dine Around. Stroll through the district for a holiday themed culinary crawl featuring Bowl & Barrel, Olive & Vine, Seasons 52, Straits and Radio Milano. Each stop will offer a holiday inspired cocktail, tasting, dish, or dessert, and some up close and personal time with the chefs and restaurateurs behind the food. Cost is $65 per person and includes tastings and cocktails at four restaurants and one dessert shop. Adults 21 and up are welcome to join. Space is limited so reserve your spot today!
Ice Sculpting Show from 7 PM: A DJ will set the stage for the evening’s festivities, starting with an exciting ice carving demonstration; Sewell Cadillac will keep you warm with delicious complimentary hot chocolate and apple cider.
Memorial City Mall is unveiling The Square this weekend with a grand celebration this Saturday, 12 November, starting at noon. Opening day will be full of entertainment and activities for the whole family from princess visits, live music to dramatic performances and a visit from Santa. Come out and check out this exciting new open-air venue located on the west side of the mall between Maggianos and California Pizza Kitchen.

METRO is offering FREE service to and from the polls on all METRO local bus, light-rail and METROLift paratransit service on Friday, November 4, and Tuesday, November 8. Additionally, the YMCA is offering 2 hours of free childcare on Tuesday, November 8, while parents vote. Parents do not need to be members of the YMCA but do need to register their children in person on or before Tuesday. The service is available for children aged 6 months to 11 years. The fourth annual Child Advocates Superhero Run is a family-fun event benefiting Harris County’s only Court Appointed Special Advocate program. The Superhero Run will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 8 AM at CITYCENTRE, and will include 5K and 1K courses for big and little heroes alike. Everyone can be a superhero for the day by wearing their favorite superhero costume to the run. Runners and non-runners also have the opportunity to host an online fundraising campaign to benefit Child Advocates.

Memorial City is turning pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Join us for an evening of live music, lite bites prepared by KUU restaurant, a wine seminar by Susi Zivanovic of Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, and hand selected wines by Haak Vineyards & Winery, Moravia Vineyard & Winery and Trinchero Napa Valley. Saint Arnold Brewing Company will also be sampling their limited edition pink beer! As the sun sets, our honoree Yvonne Cormier will illuminate Memorial City pink to show support for those affected by breast cancer.
A portion of proceeds generated from the event will be donated to Memorial Hermann’s Bobetta Lindig Breast Care Center, the state-of-the-art center that offers services for preventive care, early detection, accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment and ongoing emotional support.
This event will be held rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, this event may be cancelled and you will be notified via email.

The West Houston Bike Challenge is back in October! For the second year, Houstonians are getting back on the bike to enjoy the fun and benefits of bicycling. The Challenge, organized by the Love to Ride organization, is free, easy, and open to all Houston residents.
The ultimate competition is between West Houston work places to see which can encourage the most employees to ride a bike for 10 minutes or more between October 1 and October 31, 2016. Last year saw over 800 people from 70 West Houston business participate, and this year is expected to be even bigger.
With the support of the Memorial Management District, the Energy Corridor District and the Westchase District, those living and working in West Houston are also eligible to compete and win prizes including gift certificates to local businesses like Whole Foods and Massage Heights, memberships to B-Cycle and the Memorial Athletic Club, bike gear and more.
