CityCentre welcomes another designer addition to its fantastic lineup: Lily Rain. Bright and warm, the store showcases a colorful array fashion, jewelry, décor and gifts.
The Lily Rain website bills the store as ideal for shoppers who “live for discovery”, and it’s true. A piece in the window draws you into the store where layers of displays beckon you to discover something new: Lily Rain brand jewelry, accessories, candles, books, Giving Keys and stuffed animals. Fashion brands range from DL 1961 and True Grit to Z Supply and L Space swimwear.
What stands out beyond soft fabrics and intriguing earrings is the customer service. Staff greet each person that walks in and make a point of connecting with clients and helping them to find what they’re looing for.
Director of Operations, Debbie Flores, says, “I want customer service to set us apart; I want us to be a neighborhood destination.” Flores has been with Lily Rain since it opened the first store in Rice Village in 2014. Now the company has 20 locations. She says, “It’s taken a lot of hard work, and we couldn’t have done it without our dedicated crew on the ground.”
What’s featuring in fashion for 2018? Flores says transition pieces like lightweight pullovers paired with jeans or layered for a vacation look. Come find your own layer at Lily Rain’s CityCentre location between J.Crew and Elane Turner or online at lilyrain.com.
Physical training is not what you’d expect at Fit Factor. With a passion for helping the body work well, not just getting the body to work hard, Fit Factor’s priority is meeting the clients where they are and helping them grow and gain strength after laying a foundation of good movement and range of motion.
Clients work one-on-one with brothers and co-owners Fabian or Ivan Salazar to progress through training, increasing flexibility, strength and mobility. Fabian says, “It’s inspiring to see the change you can make implementing the right program.”
Building on an in-depth knowledge of the body, fitness trends, and physical movement, Fit Factor is turning weakness into strength and helping clients find success. “We cater to the individual and really make a change in that one person,” Fabian says.
He adds, “To provide long-term results you have to understand how the body works; the wear and tear, mobility and movement patterns. We assess you on the way all the joints work together to make you move, and based off those assessments, we develop a program to increase the range of motion.”
The passion and enthusiasm Fabian and Ivan have for their work is evident from the moment you walk in the door. They are invested in their clients, working hard to layout out personalized, tailored training plans, and encouraging them to success.
Fit Factor is partnering with Dominic’s Ultimate Pilates next door to offer a package pairing personal training with Pilates to build in variety into client’s workouts. To learn more or to find out what Fit Factor is all about. Visit them at 821 Frostwood Drive or check out all the action on their Facebook page.

Don't miss the opening of the Queensbury Theatre's last dynamic production, Unlock'd.
A whimsical coming-of-age story set “back then-ish,” UNLOCK’D fuses baroque and classical with contemporary pop musical theatre in a story about the roles we are born into and people we secretly wish to become. The musical tells the story of Clarissa, a smart, passionate, young woman in eighteenth century England who has reached the limit of her frustration living in the shadow of her gorgeous step-sister Belinda. Belinda complacently commands the attention of every gentleman of court, so, as the last party of the season approaches, Clarissa decides this is the day she’ll get Belinda married off and finally win a suitor for herself. But in a world rife with vanity, vacuous courtiers, mischievous gnomes, prudish fairies, and plenty of sibling rivalry to go around, it may not be as easy as Clarissa imagines. Based on Alexander Pope's satirical poem "The Rape of the Lock".
Tickets now on sale at queensburytheatre.org.

Fashion takes a step forward in the Memorial District with Hemline, one of the latest additions to CityCentre. Located near Sephora the shop pops with bold colors and soft fabrics.
Shipments of new pieces arrive daily, so the inventory stays fresh and unique. The wide range of high-end brands and a mix of price points means that clients are likely to find a special piece for any occasion.
And no two Hemlines are alike. “Every Hemline has different brands. You can come here, go to Rice Village, The Woodlands and find something different,” says Hemline CityCentre owner and manager Shannon O’Shea.
Part of the Hemline customer service means helping clients find a style or a piece they want, so if it’s not carried at Hemline CityCentre, O’Shea and her staff can pull from 25 other locations or order direct from the brand.
Another dynamic of Hemline is personal styling and private events. If you need help putting together a new look or dressing for an occasion, or just want to find the perfect top to compliment a favorite skirt, let the Hemline stylists guide you. Or better yet, get together a group of friends and host a private event at the store.
Hemline was started in New Orleans by Brigette Holthausen and the brand has grown to include 26 stores throughout the South. O’Shea managed both the Rice Village and River Oaks stores before opening CityCentre this year. Of the location she says, “We saw a lot of opportunity. It’s been great. The community around us has been super supportive.”
What are the trends O’Shea is seeing going into 2018? “The pantone color for the year is purple. We’re doing a lot of white-more than usual. Still the big statement earrings, the little pompoms on the shoes on the earrings. All the big accessories that you’ve been seeing will still be in and off the shoulder.”
Clients looking for pieces on trend and more can find something to fit their personal style at Hemline.Visit Hemline at 796 Town and Country Blvd, Suite 114.
Looking to relieve neck or back pain, reduce stress, recover from an injury, or increase athletic performance? The Stretch Factor’s proven system of personal assisted stretching is a unique experience designed to do just that. Using Functional Assisted Stretch Therapy™ (FAST™), certified stretch therapists take your body through its natural range of motion in a relaxing one-on-one session that is private and comfortable.
Benefits of FAST™ include pain reduction, stress relief, increased performance, improved sleep, injury prevention, improved posture, increased mobility, and more.
Each stretch therapist is certified and trained through The Stretch Factor’s proprietary and proven stretching method. They customize the experience based on the needs of each client which results in a personalized and safe outcome. Owner and General Manager of The Stretch Factor Memorial City David Mark says, “We meet people where they are: whether that’s recovering from an injury, addressing general soreness and pain, or improving on a sport. Stretching is a big part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and helps relax and restore our body to its natural position.”
Mark notes, “The biggest expectation people should have when they get off the table is to feel better than when they came in.” And if that’s not enough, consistent 5-star ratings on social media reinforce what people are experiencing at The Stretch Factor.
A collegiate athlete, Mark understands the importance of stretching. The Stretch Factor co-founders, Steve Eckerman and Ryan Terry, invited Mark to check out The Stretch Factor’s flagship location in Cinco Ranch early last year. One stretch was all it took. Mark says, “I felt amazing and I knew immediately there was something here.” Come see what The Stretch Factor is all about. Visit their Memorial City location at 841 Frostwood Dr. or book your first session online at www.thestretchfactor.com.
