Richard Proto, co-owner of Beautique, described interacting with the clients as the best part about working at the salon and spa. The staff enjoy becoming a part of their clients’ lives and feeling like their extended family.
“It takes a lot to come between a Texas woman and her hair,” joked Mr. Proto. He explained, however, that too many salons lose clients because the staff does not bring enough new ideas to the table. Then, when clients want a change, they switch salons. For this reason, Beautique works differently.
Beautique makes education a priority for its stylists and provides learning opportunities. Stylists regularly attend conferences and seminars to learn about the latest trends and techniques. Afterward, stylists can offer new solutions and suggestions to their clients, and they can encourage clients to try fresh looks and styles.
